In front of an enthusiastic group of 100 technical college students from the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, it was a unique opportunity for in-depth discussion. The topics that took centre stage included:
- Responsibility for safe design
- Application of the Machinery Directive
- Other directives / regulations
- standards
- risk assessment
- Safety functions
- Specific questions on project work
The workshop, which lasted 90 minutes, made it impressively clear that the topic of machine safety is by no means dry or theoretical, but can be versatile and extremely exciting. The lively discussion and the commitment of the participants showed that this is a topic of great importance.
The event was so successful that it was unanimously decided to offer this workshop again next year. This plan was endorsed by the responsible and organising teachers, Mr Holger Rieckmeyer and Mr Markus Claessen.
